“All the World's Futures” is the theme of the 2015 Venice Biennale. Members of the Los Angeles Printmaking Society are invited to submit work for a membership exhibition that will open at the Scuola Internazionale di Grafica Gallery in Venice Italy from July 28th to August 15th, 2015. This exhibition will travel to Venice via secure mailing tube with exhibition curator and work will be presented un-matted and unframed on the gallery walls. Please note this and send appropriate work.
The Future: LAPS International Exchange Membership Print Exhibition

JUROR
This membership exhibition will be juried by artist Stas Orlovski.
Orlovski is a contemporary artist whose work includes paintings, drawings, prints and animation and is one of the artists selected to represent the city of Los Angeles for the Venice Biennale 2015.

CALENDAR
Entry submission to CAFÉ deadline: May 15th, 2015
Jury Notification : June 1st  , 2015
Delivery of work to Los Angeles deadline: July 1st, 2015
Work will travel with installer Mary Sherwood in a secure travel container with glassine interleaving. Please submit work that can travel!
Work that is at all dimensional or has a fagile surface may be rejected. LAPS Members should carry insurance on their own artwork as artwork in transit will have limited insurance coverage.

Return of artwork: The week of August 20th work will be shipped back to artists with an email notification from Los Angeles. LAPS will cover cost of shipping art work to Italy. Artists need to send work with a pre-paid return shipping.

Upon acceptance work must be available for the duration of the exhibition.

MEDIA
Original works in all traditional processes including monotypes are acceptable. Small artist books will be considered if easy to package.
Traditional photography, offset reproductions or reproductions of art originally produced in another medium will NOT be considered. Prints that are strictly digital will NOT be considered.

Size: No work wider on one edge than 36”. The paper size may be longer vertically due to available wall space in the Scuola Gallery.
*No three-dimensional prints or prints with fragile surfaces. Prints will be rolled with glassine interleaving.

ENTRY FEE
$15.00 for up to 3 images. Only one print selected per artist – so include your best!

Submitted digital images should represent the quality and nature of the work. Work considered different than the submitted JPEGS may be refused from exhibition.

SHIPPING OF WORK
Accepted artists are responsible for shipping to Los Angeles only. Please include a prepaid return-shipping label for the return from Los Angeles. Shipping to Italy will be covered by LAPS.

Venice Exchange Ehibition


The Scuola Internazionale di Grafica di Venezia was founded in 1969. This is the major international studio in Venice for practicing and professional artists and designers. The Scuola offers Courses and Workshops in Printmaking, the Artists Book, Calligraphy, and Graphic Design. In 1996 they established an Artists in Residence Program which has been attended by artists from all over the world. They also organize an intense calendar of Exhibitions, presentations and Special Workshops. Through the years, generations of international students and countless University Professors have lived in Venice and studied at the Scuola through semester and intensive programs organized in conjunction with many Affiliated Universities. In their professionally equipped studios, artists and students from all over the world have the opportunity to work side by side with Italian artists and students. This is what makes an experience at Scuola truly unique.
