California, like of the rest of the world, is facing climate change, drought and unsustainable farming practices that threaten our food and water supplies. The purpose of this exhibition is not only to bring awareness to these environmental issues, but also to explore how art can create change and promote a sustainable future. The Los Angeles Printmaking Society invites its members to submit up to 3 original prints in any medium on themes that explore the environment and sustainability. The exhibition will be juried by renowned local artist Amir H. Fallah and will be on view at the historic Center for the Arts Eagle Rock during upcoming Earth Day celebration events.

In concert with the California’s Future? exhibition launch on April 17, 2016, Los Angeles Printmaking Society will conduct a special all-ages printmaking workshop at Center for the Arts Eagle Rock as part of a series of Earth Day celebration events..

Juried by Amir H. Fallah:
Amir H. Fallah is an artist living and working in Los Angeles, CA. Amir received his B.F.A. from The Maryland Institute College of Art and his M.F.A from UCLA in 2005. He has exhibited both nationally and internationally. Exhibits include shows at The Nerman Museum, Weatherspoon Art Museum, The Sharjah Biennial 2009, LA Louver, The Third Line, Gallery Wendi Norris, Charlie James Gallery, Sherry Leedy Contemporary Art, 18th Street Art Center, Cherry And Martin,  Frederieke Taylor gallery, Mary Goldman Gallery among others. He has been a visiting lecturer at a range of respected institutions, including Columbia College, USC, UCLA, Cleveland Institute of Art, California State University, University Of New Mexico, Otis College Of Art, and Maryland Institute College of Art.
